In the Ukrainian art of last decades by 20th – the beginnings of 21 centuries Alexey Vlasova’s creativity is marked by consecutive adherence to the settled art traditions, following which it created new art, opened private world of the contemporary.
The sculptor of monuments on a speciality, Alexey Vlasov, mainly, worked in the field of easel painting. In this kind of painting, irrespective of a genre – whether it be a landscape or a still-life, or pictures on religious themes, – are notable echoes of the best traditions of world culture from the Byzantian art and the Ukrainian iconography, painting of the Renaissance or outstanding European masters of 17 centuries. They inspired the author and opened before it numerous means which were reflected in its art in laconic and expressive artistic images with set of semantic shades and implied senses. Alexey Vlasov, certainly, remains to one of leading masters of the Ukrainian art culture of time. In art of the artist traditions of the past and achievement of the newest art, and product it have organically incorporated bear in itself deep and multiple-valued sense which always is the main sign of a true art.
The basic genres – a thematic picture, a portrait. Silvery colour of painting of Vlasova is based on light-to-dark achromatic tones, refined voice-frequency gradation of forms and plans; compositions are constructed on parities of forms and decorative planes.
At all exhibitions, including countries of Western Europe, America and Japan, products of Vlasova had invariable success. And it is not casual – its pictures always differed the briefness, the refined, reserved colour, the refined form.
