Operating member of the Academic Senate of the Roman Academy of the modern art, Italy.
The modern art and the exacting spectator appreciate, first of all, bright individuality. Them authentic display of surrounding realities does not interest any more. They fanatically aspire to daily, infinite opening of the new irreal worlds talently invented by artists.
Throughout the long period of time Oleg Denisenko persistently and consistently forms own unique world. Observing of it, we, on the one hand, as though direct to our old children’s imaginations, with another – with strange enough and original way we touch philosophical problems and socially-drama collisions of today which so often get characteristic signs of buffoonery and grotesque. In this wide range the especial way and depth of emotional influence of works of the artist on the spectator disappears.
In Oleg Denisenko’s works, undoubtedly, there is an image of the person, however not in traditional, and at its modern measurement. It plays an especial role – creates an original skeleton, a spatial basis round which the difficult plastic story enriched with a large quantity of details and numerous attributes is developed. Their specially excessive quantity as though holds down movements of characters, forms an original associative projection to a today’s condition of an information-psychological overload of the person.
Works of the artist are occupied by strange beings which remind the dummies made up and dressed in a medieval armour, puppets or heroes of street theatres. The author avoids multifigured compositions and does not pay too much attention to a basis concrete definition. More often it concentrates only on one person – a figure or a semifigure, creating, thus, illusion of portraiture of one unknown person, and, probably, and… Its plastic concept to aspire to infinity, freely proceeding in space and being embodied in graphic, picturesque and sculptural compositions.
